Sara Ali Khan is on a roll despite only being a couple of films old. After a successful debut in Kedarnath and Simmba, the actor has been signed on to star opposite Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan’s upcoming remake of Coolie No 1, reports Mumbai Mirror.
The film will go on floors in July. Farhad Samji, who wrote the dialogues for Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, will be working on the adaptation.
Sara Ali Khan will play the role that Karisma Kapoor did in the 1995 film which also starred Govinda and Kader Khan. The film will be adapted with a modern avatar. According to reports, Sara was offered the part much before Kedarnath.
The makers are reportedly aiming for an Eid release in 2020, revealed Samji to Mumbai Mirror. The writer also said that he has narrated the dialogues of the film to Varun, and the actor has already started rehearsing for it. The film is not a remake or a sequel, but rather a modern adaptation of the 1995 hit, he added.
Sara Ali Khan was most recently seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Simmba and will co-star with Kartik Aaryan in Imitaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2. Varun Dhawan is currently wrapping up shooting for Karan Johar production Kalank and is set to start work on Remo D’souza’s dance film.
