Twinkle Responds to a Review Praising Her Navel in ‘Baadshah’
‘Baadshah’ completes 20 years today
When Baadshah released 20 years back, it wasn’t just Shah Rukh Khan and Twinkle Khanna who earned rave reviews for their performances. As it’s now revealed, Twinkle’s navel also clinched good reviews for its performance and she responds to it by adding a dash of her humour and wit.
Twinkle took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of a movie review of the film, in which reviewer had praised SRK for his acting and Twinkle for flaunting her navel. “Shah Rukh has performed well, so have Twinkle and her navel, which was in full view right through the film,”the review read.
Reacting to it, the actor-turned-author gave a befitting reply. She wrote: "Did I say I never got good reviews? I apparently did with the support of an emotive body part! Have to say that 20 years on and the 'Baadshah' couple still have it - SRK still has his dimples and I still have that fine navel."
Released in 1999, "Baadshah" was directed by Abbas-Mustan. The film also featured veteran actors Amrish Puri and Rakhee.
Recently, when the 66th National Film Awards were announced, Akshay Kumar andwife Twinkle reacted with excitement to their film Pad Man winning the National Award for Best Film on Social Issues, saying they were “completely overwhelmed.”
On Twitter, journalist Ananya Bhattacharya shared the news, writing, “ #PadMangets Best Film on Social Issues. Congratulations, @mrsfunnybones, @akshaykumar and @radhika_apte! #NationalFilmAwards”
Twinkle responded to Ananya and wrote, “Thank you! Completely overwhelmed -I was in the car-saw this very tweet and discovered we actually won the National Award! #Padman”
