AndhaDhun star Tabu has joined the cast of the light-hearted family comedy Jawaani Jaaneman, which features Saif Ali Khan in the lead, the makers announced on Tuesday 7 May.

The two actors are reuniting after a gap of 20 years. Saif and Tabu last worked together in Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Saath Saath Hain. They have also starred together in 1996’s Tu Chor Main Sipahi.

Saif is co-producing the film under his banner Black Knight Films, along with Pooja Entertainment and Northern Lights Films.

A coming-of-age film, Jawaani Jaaneman is a comedic take on how a man confronts the harsh reality of his life, the press release read.

This is what Saif had to say about Tabu joining the film.

“Tabu is a brilliant actor. This part is really funny on paper and I’m so pleased she has agreed to play it as now it will be hysterical. I’m really looking forward to it,”
Saif Ali Khan

The movie will go on floors next month and the 45-day-long first schedule will be shot in London.

Tabu is coming off the groundbreaking success of AndhaDhun and will next be seen in the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De along with Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh.

Saif of course has the highly awaited second season of Netflix series Sacred Games coming up. He also has Tanhaji with Ajay Devgn and Hunter in his kitty.
