The trailer of Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film Simmba will be released today. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film stars the newly wedded Ranveer in the role of Sangram Bhalerao, a flamboyant cop.

In what promises to be a signature Rohit Shetty masala flick, Simmba takes off from Ajay Devgn’s Singham (Ajay also has a cameo in the film) to tell the story of a rogue cop who’s in the trade for the money till he undergoes a change of heart after violence touches someone he loves. The result? An action and emotion-packed drama, with of course Ranveer visibly enjoying himself on screen.

At the trailer launch, Ranveer revealed what his new bride Deepika thought of the film. "Rohit sir had shown her a few rushes. She doesn't overreact on anything in life. So when the screen was off, she looked at me and said, 'Hot lag raha hai'," he said.

The posters of the film, which releases on 28 December, point towards a distinct ’90s feel, and of course are reminiscent of films like Dabangg and Singham.

Simmba would be Sara’s second film after her debut with Kedarnath on 7 December. While we missed seeing much of her in the trailer, hopefully there’s more of her in the film.

Dharma movies has been posting live updates of the trailer launch and fans cannot contain their excitement.
