It’s Confirmed! Shraddha Kapoor Will Play Saina Nehwal in Biopic

Directed by Amol Gupte, the film is slated for a 2018 release.

Yes, you read that right. Shraddha Kapoor is indeed going to play Saina Nehwal in an upcoming biopic on the ace badminton champion. The film will be directed by Amol Gupte and produced by Bhushan Kumar.

According to a report by Times of India, Shraddha is super excited to pick up the role.

I feel so lucky to be playing Saina, who’s not just been the world’s No. 1 badminton player, but is also a youth icon. I can’t wait to start prepping for my role.

The actor certainly looks a lot like Saina, who is also happy with the casting. According to her, Shraddha is a friend who is “a very talented actress” and “ hardworking”. The badminton champion also complimented Shraddha on her looks.

The best part is, she is a good friend as well. So it will be easier to teach her some badminton skills!
