Ishq Vishk, the film that saw Shahid Kapoor make his Bollywood debut in 2003 will now have a sequel. The rom com, which featured Shahid along with Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala was a hit back then and launched Shahid and Amrita’s acting careers. Ramesh Taurani, the producer of Ishq Vishk has confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that a sequel is definitely in the offing. The scripting of the sequel is currently under process, following which the director and cast for the project will be finalised. Taurani also said that the sequel would again be a teenage or college romance.

Taurani had first spotted Shahid Kapoor in the music video of the song Aankhon Mein by the band Aryans.

Shahid was too young then to be launched as a hero then, so Taurani kept him in mind and when he heard the story of Ishq Vishk from Ken Ghosh after 2 or 3 years, he immediately thought of Shahid for the lead hero named Rajiv.

The makers of Ishq Vishk remember having seen Amrita Rao in a coffee commercial and thought she would be apt for the role of Payal in the film.

Ishq Vishk was a typical Archie, Betty, Veronica kind of college romance which won hearts back in 2003. All eyes will now be on the cast of the sequel - does the current teeny bopper favourite Kartik Aaryan stand a chance? Or will Shahid’s brother Ishaan Khatter beat him to the lead role? Watch this space.
