A non bailable warrant had been issued against Sanjay Dutt last week for not appearing in court for a hearing involving allegations made by film producer Shakil Noorani. Dutt’s spokesperson was quick to put out an official statement saying that it had happened due to a miscommunication between the actor and his lawyers. The actor appeared in an Andheri court on Monday and the non bailable warrant against him now stands cancelled.

The actor was seen leaving the court on Monday morning, but he made no comment about the case to the media present. Shakil Noorani had alleged receiving threat calls from the underworld on Sanjay Dutt’s behalf, in a matter dating back to 2002, when the actor had reportedly taken a signing amount of Rs 50 Lakh for Jaan Ki Baazi, but apparently didn’t shoot for the film.

Noorani is now claiming a refund of the above mentioned amount in addition to Rs 2 Crore as damages.
