Satish Kaushik worked with Salman Khan in Bharat. Now, he will be reuniting with the actor in a different capacity. Salman is all set to produce the Pankaj Tripathi-Monal Gajjar-starrer Kaagaz, which marks Kaushik’s directorial comeback five years after Gang of Ghosts, reports Mumbai Mirror.

“This happened during the shooting of Bharat in Malta. When we were discussing how Salman has an eye for promoting good cinema, he asked me what I was working on. I narrated the script to him after coming back to Mumbai and he loved it. He has come on board as the producer”, Satish told Mumbai Mirror.

Kaagaz is based on a real life story of a UP farmer, Lal Bihari, who was declared dead on paper by his relatives in an attempt to take his land. “I am directing a film after a long time and am looking at reinventing the kind of films I made. Kaagaz belongs to the kind of new age cinema like Stree, Badhaai Ho, Article 15. Pankaj has done a great job. The film is very close to my heart and I’m grateful to Salman for supporting my vision. I’m glad we are collaborating after Tere Naam,” Satish added.
