Salman Khan has given in to certain Hindu right wing groups who were protesting against the title of his upcoming production LoveRatri, which features his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain. The actor announced a change in the film’s title from LoveRatri to LoveYatri.

Last week a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur region ordered an FIR to be filed against Salman Khan and seven others for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments with the title LoveRatri. Earlier, certain groups including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had demanded that the makers change the title of the film as it “hurt Hindu sentiments”.

On Tuesday night, Salman announced the change in the film’s title from LoveRatri to LoveYatri on social media, with the comment - “This is not a spelling mistake”.

According to a press release, makers of the film changed the title after, "Taking into consideration the concerns from the Censor Board and sensitivity of Karni Sena towards the title of the film. Producer Salman Khan decided to opt for a change in title considering the safety and best interest of his audience."

LoveYatri, scheduled to release on 5 October, is produced by Salman Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films and is the launch for his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma.
