Salman Khan was recently spotted launching the music album of Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming Marathi film, Rubik’s Cube, in which his alleged lady love Iulia Vantur has sung the number Dil Lafanga. And now the Sultan star has sung a Marathi track for another Manjrekar film, FU - Fun Unlimited.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Manjrekar confirmed the news.

With him you need to pitch a song which is exactly in his zone. He did not sing for this film (<i>Rubik’s Cube</i>) but he has recorded a number for my next film, <i>FU — Fun Unlimited</i>, which is a musical with 14 tracks.

Set to release in June, FU will see the return of Sairat star Parshya aka Akash Thosar. According to Manjrekar, the song sung by Salman is a part of the narrative. FU was apparently supposed to be launched by Salman’s upcoming new label, Being Human Music. But it did not take off in time and so Manjrekar sold the music rights to another company.

Salman heard it and asked if he could give it a try. I was delighted. He’s recorded it and we both love the song.

Mahesh and Salman are looking to collaborate on a private album as well under the latter’s label.

Singles have a big market today and private albums are doing exceedingly well. So expect an announcement soon.

Manjrekar also shared that he is working on a script that could see Salman’s Marathi debut as an actor as well.
