Yash Raj Films have revealed Rani Mukerji’s look in Mardani 2, a sequel to her 2014 thriller. Rani can be seen in a crisp white shirt and jeans as she reprises her role as Shivani Shivaji Roy, a senior police inspector who took on child trafficking kingpin Karan Rastogi (Tahir Raj Bhasin) in the first instalment.

Rani is set to face a new villain in this film. She had earlier dropped hints about the character saying, “Shivani will face a cold, merciless villain who has no empathy, no fear of God and is pure evil. The character has been written superbly and I’m excited to find out who the actor will be.”

Mardaani 2 will mark the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, who wrote the original script, and will be produced by Aditya Chopra. YRF had announced in a statement that the film is expected to release in the second half of 2019.
