Despite Bad Reviews, Salman Khan’s ‘Race 3’ Earns Rs 120.71 Cr

‘Race 3’ hit screens amid much fanfare typically associated with a Bhai film.

Salman Khan starrer Race 3 has set the cash registers ringing as it crosses the Rs 100 crore mark. This becomes Salman’s third film to earn Rs 100 crore in three days. It has now surpassed the mark of Rs 120 crore.

The film raked in Rs 29.17 crore on its first day. According to trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, Race 3 has another week to score big at the box office because Rajkumar Hirani’s much-awaited, Sanju hits the screens on 29 June 2018.

Salman’s Eid release is the second highest opener of 2018. Padmaavat leads with Rs 114 crore, which had a five-day weekend opening.

This is Salman’s second highest Eid opening; Sultan earned Rs 180 crore, but with a five-day weekend.

We’ll have to see if the trend continues after the weekend opening.

This is the third instalment of the Race franchise. The first two installments starred Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Anil Kapoor remains the only common denominator in these three instalments.

The action thriller is produced by Ramesh S Taurani and Salman Khan. The cast also includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. In a departure from the earlier instalments, this vehicle, powered by Bhai is directed by Remo D’Souza.
