Is Prabhas Too Lazy to Get Married? The ‘Baahubali’ Star Reacts
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor talk about their experience of working on Saaho.
The stars of Saaho Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor opened up in an interview to Film Companion about shooting for upcoming their multilingual action entertainer. Speaking to Anupama Chopra, the actors talked about how exhausting it was to shoot the film in 3 languages - Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
Shraddha narrated her experience on Saaho first, “I didn’t dub in Telugu for myself, for the teaser I did. I would mug up all my lines on set. I had to go very well prepared because I didn’t want to feel like I don’t know my lines in Telugu and so I approached it just the way I approached my Hindi dialogues, which is I know them in my sleep. I had a blast shooting my lines in Telugu because I felt there was something new coming out, new nuances were coming out.”
Prabhas added, “First time I did Baahubali in Tamil and Telugu. I know I can speak Tamil, but I never did films in Tamil. Every time I did Tamil I used to get excited. Same thing, Hindi is better for me in this, because Telugu I know, I’ve already done it for 17 years. So Hindi was a little hard to practice and all but the surprise element helped us a lot I think.”
Talking about the need to repeat and reshoot the same scene in different languages, Prabhas said that it was exhausting to do it for Saaho. “It’s really hard and exhausting because it’s just a moment when you get that performance, and then you are like okay okay, now Hindi, so Hindi is done and you are like let’s go, but now Telugu, okay.”
During a conversation on Koffee With Karan, the director of the Baahubali series, SS Rajamouli had commented that Prabhas is so lazy that he wouldn’t want to get married because it’s too much work, picking up this thought, Prabhas was asked how someone as lazy and shy as him became a superstar. Here’s what Prabhas had to say, “Lazy, shy and can’t meet people, so three problems I had and even I think about it, why am I in this field? Am I right or wrong? But luckily Baahubali happened and I don’t have a chance.”
