Parineeti Chopra took to Twitter to announce that the Hindi remake of Hollywood film The Girl on the Train will release on 8 May 2020. The actor will essay the role played by Emily Blunt in the 2015 film.

Based on the 2015 bestseller by Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train narrates the story of a woman who gets entangled in a missing persons investigation that throws her life into disarray. The psychological thriller has been directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and is backed by Reliance Entertainment.

Parineeti shared the first look from the film in August saying that the role was something she had attempted for the first time and was the “most difficult” character that she has ever played.

Mission Mangal actor Kirti Kulhari will also feature as a police officer in the film. Parineeti wrapped up shooting for the film a few months ago in London. “So, I leave London after seven weeks, finishing 'The Girl On The Train'. Words fail me. Feelings overwhelm me. This is a film that has for the first time stayed, with me after I've finished it,” she said.

Parineeti recently voiced Anna in the Hindi version of animated film Frozen 2, with cousin Priyanka Chopra voicing Elsa. She is currently training for the upcoming Saina Nehwal biopic in which she plays the badminton champion. She recently returned to her practice after taking some time off to heal from an injury.
