Recently, Kriti Sanon has won hearts with her performances in Bareilly ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi. She made us wait for quite some time before announcing her next project. Now, Kriti took to Instagram to share the first look poster from her next film, Mimi. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Mimi deals with the subject of surrogacy.

In the poster we can see two hands - one holding a baby and one extending her hand to receive the little one.

“Life is a journey filled with unexpected miracles. Get ready for a journey like never before, #Mimi !! This one’s gonna be so special.. 🦋🦋 #DineshVijan @laxman.utekar #PankajTripathi @MaddockFilms @officialjiocinema”, Kriti captioned the photo.

Speaking to Filmfare about Mimi, Kriti said, “My film is directed by Luka Chuppi director Laxman Utekar and I love working with him. The film is not at all preachy, rather it has a subtle message. This is the first time that I will be carrying the film on my shoulders as the protagonist is a woman.”

Kriti also shared her experience playing a mother on screen. “It is not at all possible to understand the emotions of a mother if you aren’t one. This is a completely new territory for me and I am quite nervous”, the actor added.

The film will go on floors by the end of the year. Based on the Marathi movie Mala Aai Vhhaychy, Mimi will have Pankaj Tripathi in a pivotal role.
