Shah Rukh Khan Wishes 'Yes Boss' Co-Star Juhi Chawla on B'Day

Shah Rukh Khan had an adorable message for his co-star of several films Juhi Chawla on her birthday. The actor posted a tweet saying, “We play all your songs in our hearts. Happy Birthday to my closest friend and family. Love u (sic).” This was in response to an earlier tweet by Chawla in which she exclaimed her delight that songs from films she’s starred in were playing on the radio.

Shashi Tharoor's 'Nehru: The Invention of India' to Be Adapted as Web Series

MP Shashi Tharoor has announced that his biography of Jawaharlal Nehru, Nehru: The Invention of India, will be turned into a web series. It will be directed by Onir and Bhavna Talwar and Sheetal Talwar will be showrunner.

Rakul Preet to Star Alongside Sidharth Malhotra in 'Marjaavaan'

Actor Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to feature with her Aiyaary co-star Sidharth Malhotra in the upcoming film Marjaavaan directed by Milap Zaveri. She announced the news on Twitter where she wrote: "Super happy to announce my next in Hindi 'Marjaavaan'! Milap Zaveri let's kill it!"

The film will also star Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria, who is making her Bollywood debut with Student of the Year 2. It film reunites Zaveri with Riteish and Sidharth after four years after Ek Villain.

KJo Apologises for Hurting the Sentiments of the Northeast

Karan Johar has apologised after he "unintentionally" hurt the sentiments of the people from Northeast and said it had "come from a place of no knowledge". "...I would like to apologise if I have hurt any sentiments..... it was purely unintentional and came from a place of no knowledge which is absolutely no excuse. I am extremely sensitive to the different cultures of our land and I am very sorry," he tweeted.

The filmmaker had posted a video of himself pulling actor Kirron Kher's leg, for wearing a traditional headgear, which was gifted to her by an Indian Idol contestant from Arunachal Pradesh. Karan, too, was given one. But he had not put it on. In the video, Kirron asks why he did not, to which, the filmamaker, goofing around, said: "Because you have guts, I don't."

Several users on social media pointed out that Karan was being "disrespectful" towards the Japi—a traditional hat from Assam — which is a "symbol of respect for all the people of Assam.

Never Quit Telugu Industry for Bollywood: Ileana D'Cruz

Ileana D'Cruz, who has made a comeback to the Telugu industry after six years with the forthcoming film Amar Akbar Anthony, says she never quit her career in the south to build one in Bollywood.

"People have always had misconceptions about my career. After I signed "Barfi", I was shocked to read reports that I have quit Telugu cinema for Bollywood. These were baseless allegations and it's time to put them to rest. Why will I give up an industry which has given me an identity?" she said in an interview.

In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor's Barfi! "It's just that I was getting really good work in Bollywood that I didn't have time for Telugu films. Also, after a point I was being approached for dance numbers by Telugu filmmakers and I was not excited about these offers. Therefore, I waited for the right film to return and that's how Amar Akbar Anthony happened," she clarified.

'The Girl in the Spider's Web' Gets India Release Date

Claire Foy's The Girl in the Spider's Web will release in India on November 23. The thriller, directed by Fede Alvarez of Don't Breathe fame, is set after the events of David Fincher's remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It is being brought to India by Sony Pictures India and will also be dubbed in Hindi, read a statement. It is the second instalment in the Millennium film series.

The theme revolves around a computer hacker (Lisbeth Salander essayed by Foy) and a journalist (Mikael Blomkvist), who find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials.

Karan Johar took to social media to post a home-video style compilation of memories of his twins, Yash and Roohi on the occasion of Children’s Day. “To the child in you....the child with you....the children who make us believe in innocence and happiness again ...#happychildrensday from me and mine! Netflix, Amazon Prime Sued for Obscene Content

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought the Centre's response on a plea for removal of vulgar and sexually explicit content from online platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and others.

A bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V. Kameswar Rao listed the matter for further hearing on February 8.

The petition was filed by NGO, Justice for Rights. Advocate Harpreet S. Hora appearing for the NGO sought a law or guidelines for regulating such contents available on these platforms, reports IANS.

The petitioner said online platforms offered vulgar, sexually explicit, pornographic, profane, virulent, religiously forbidden and morally unethical contents in order to attract more subscribers and generate profit.

The NGO alleged that most of the contents available was in violation of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.

Priyanka Joins Hands With Facebook

Actress Priyanka Chopra has partnered with Facebook India for a live event called #SocialForGood to spread awareness on issues like mental health, cyber bullying and women entrepreneurship.

#SocialForGood will be a four hour long live event, which will take place on November 27 on Facebook, reports IANS.

Talking about the event and influence of social media on social issues, Priyanka said in a statement: "There is no denying the power of social media. It is a force which once unleashed, is difficult to control or stop. Its force comes from the huge influence it wields and recognising that means, using it well, to do some good.

"I have personally witnessed the positive effects of social media in bringing awareness and action to many of the causes I hold dear to my heart. The right content can make all the difference."

#MeToo: Amazon Drops Tanmay Bhat, Retains Kanan Gill for Comicstaan Season 2

An Amazon India spokesperson has confirmed to Gadgets 360 that stand-up comic Tanmay Bhat would no longer be a part of Comicstaan 2. Kanan Gill would however, continue to be a part of the second season of the reality comedy hunt series.

As the #metoo movement gained momentum in India, Bhat was ousted from All India Bakchod over allegations of inaction over sexual harassment. Gill too was accused of inappropriate behaviour by several women.

MGR Returns in 3D Digital Mode

Using the latest technology, AN-Face, Orange County, a Malaysia-based animation company has resurrected the legendary Tamil actor MGR in a two-hour long 'feature film' in 3D digital mode, to be released in Hyderabad, next month.

The digital company has used artificial intelligence to define the facial expressions and his mannerisms which made him a legend in the Indian film industry.

The film is based on movie stills, publicity photos, and films featuring the actor, who later became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The official release would be held during the 4th edition of Indywood Film Carnival to be held at Ramoji Film City from December 1to 4th.

The Film Carnival is the brainchild of Keralite, Sohan Roy, a marine engineer by profession and operates out of Dubai .

The Malaysian company has been working with a leading Hollywood VFX specialist for the past two years to create this, reports IANS.

Abhishek Bachchan & Shweta Bachchan Nanda to Appear on Koffee With Karan 6

Karan Johar took to Instagram to announce the presence of the Bachchan siblings on his chat show. ‘With my childhood buddies !!! The most wonderful siblings ever! @shwetabachchan @bachchan #koffeewithkaran @starworldindia @hotstar,’ he wrote.
