Was a Father Figure to Me: Govinda Remembers Kader Khan

The actors co-starred in films such as ‘Anari No 1’ and ‘Coolie No 1’.

Govinda shared a heartfelt message in memory of actor-writer Kader Khan following the news of his death on 31 December, 2018. He wrote:

He was not just my “ustaad” but a father figure to me, his midas touch and his aura made every actor he worked with a superstar. The entire film industry and my family deeply mourns this loss and we cannot express the sorrow in words. I pray to God that may his soul rest in peace.

Kader Khan and Govinda’s professional relationship was a significant association in the former’s career. The two co-starred in several successful films during the ’90s such as David Dhawan’s Coolie No 1, Anari No 1.

Kader Khan passed away in Canada following a prolonged illness. He was 81 years old.
