The Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh continues to take the box office by storm. The film has earned Rs 190.64 crores at the box office since releasing on 21 June and is expected to cross Rs 200 crore in a day or two. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the film ‘unstoppable’ as it is all set to cross the 200 crores mark.

He even went to the extent of saying that it’s difficult to estimate the total business of the film.

In the film’s second weekend, the trade analyst also noted that the film is going steady at the box office and earned Rs 12.21 crores on its second Friday.

These figures were much higher as compared to the second Friday box office collections of other popular 2019 releases such as Uri (Rs 7.66 crore), Kesari (Rs 4.45 crore) and Bharat (Rs 4.30 crore), observed Adarsh.

This isn’t much of a dip from the Rs 15.91 crore that the film collected on its sixth day, which took its total collection to Rs 120.81 crore.

The film, which is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, entered the Rs 100 crore club on Tuesday, 25 June and is also Shahid’s first solo release to do so. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter, writing, “#KabirSingh cruises past Rs 100 cr... Shahid Kapoor scores his first *solo* century... Extraordinary trending on weekdays... Eyes Rs 130 cr+ total in Week 1... Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr, Sun 27.91 cr, Mon 17.54 cr, Tue 16.53 cr. Total: Rs 104.90 cr. India biz. Blockbuster.”

Kabir Singh has also become the second fastest film to reach the Rs 100 crore mark in 2019, after Salman Khan starrer Bharat which did so in four days.

According to Taran, Kabir Singh has surpassed the opening weekend business of Total Dhamaal, even though Kabir Singh released in fewer screens than Total Dhamaal. Not only that, the Arjun Reddy remake has emerged as the biggest non-holiday opener of 2019.

Kabir Singh managed to rake in Rs. 70.83 crores in the first weekend of its release. A surprising feat indeed. Its business has only increased with every passing day.

Kabir Singh has also crossed the opening day figures of other 2019 films that have released on regular, non-holiday Fridays.

“ #KabirSingh is terrific on Day 1... Emerges Shahid Kapoor’s biggest opener [surpasses *Day 1* biz of #Padmaavat: ₹ 19 cr]... Biggest *non-holiday* opening day of 2019 [surpasses #TotalDhamaal: ₹ 16.50 cr]... Is a craze amongst the youth... Fri ₹ 20.21 cr. India biz.”

Kabir Singh is directed by Sandeep Vanga who also directed the original. Kabir Singh stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Kabir Singh is the story of a medical student who falls in love with a fellow student, played by Kiara Advani. When the latter leaves Kabir, the protagonist begins spiraling into a self-destructive void. The film released in theatres on 21 June.
