Muscat was star struck as the who’s who of Bollywood gathered in Muscat over the weekend to celebrate the first anniversary of Filmfare Middle East. Sonam Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandes, Tabu, Rajkummar Rao and Ishaan Khattar dazzled the stage in Oman for their Omani and Indian fans.

Filmfare Middle East launched last year as Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar unveiled the magazine in Dubai. The Quint caught up with the stars to talk about the importance of awards, movie and roles they get and film business.

Filmfare Middle East came into being keeping in mind the large Asian expatriate population in UAE and GCC, as well as the Arab population who love Bollywood cinema and have an interest in Bollywood celebrities.

At Filmfare Middle East, Rajkummar Rao bagged performer of the year, Tabu bagged classic talent, Sonam Kapoor received an award for progressive roles in Indian cinema, Jacqueline Fernandez got woman of style and substance award Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor bagged the Best Debutant Award and Asha Parekh got the Lifetime Achievement Award.
