If anyone is keeping a track of Indian politics, it’s Bollywood. After the recent political drama in Maharashtra, many filmmakers have approached the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA) to register film titles related to the political situation in the state.

According to a report by midday, major production houses, such as T-Series, have reached out to IMPPA to get film titles registered ASAP. A source close to IMPPA told the publication that some of the titles that have been registered include Chanakya Ka Khel, Aghadi, Mahayuti, and Saheb.

Almost 5-10 applications for registration of titles have been arriving daily for the past week.

However, the process of getting a film title registered is a slow one. It takes almost 45-50 days for one application to be processed. For this process to be faster, there’s a premium fee of Rs 3,000, which has been paid by many top studios and production houses so they can get a response within a week, instead of waiting for over a month.

In August, The Quint had reported that almost 20-30 producers had approached the IMPPA to register the titles Article 370 and Article 35A. This happened in light of the Indian government’s abrogation of Article 370 around the same time. Other titles related to the government’s decision to revoke Article 370 included Kashmir Hamara Hai and the literal translation of Article 370 and 35A in Hindi - Dhara 370 and Dhara 35A.

In March also we had reported that film production houses in Mumbai had rushed to register titles relating to the Pulwama terror attack and the subsequent Balakot retaliation by Indian forces.
