The Search Is On for Ayushmann Khurrana’s Boyfriend

The makers of Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan are looking for a male lead to star opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.

While it’s public that the sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan featuring Ayushmann Khurrana will be revolve around a gay relationship, what’s news is that the makers are now on the look out for a second male lead to play Ayushmann’s boyfriend in the film. According to sources close to the project, the team isn’t keen on signing a newcomer for the role, and is looking for an A-lister to play the Andhadhun actor’s lover.

Produced by Aanand L Rai, the sequel has been titled Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan and is expected to go on floors later this year.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the original Shubh Mangal Saavdhan dealt with with a protagonist who was suffering from erectile dysfunction and the film was widely appreciated both by critics and the audience.

While the search for a second male lead is on, we wonder if any of the current crop of A-listers will sign up for Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan. Most of them may either find the idea of playing a gay character too challenging for their comfort or find it difficult in signing up for a film that’s already known because of Ayushmann Khurrana.
