Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Other Celebs Mourn Arun Jaitley’s Death

Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away on Saturday, 24 August, at New Delhi’s AIIMS. The 66-year-old leader had been hospitalised since 9 August. Bollywood expressed their sorrow on his untimely demise through tweets about Mr Jaitley.

Hrithik Roshan tweeted that, “the nation has lost a leader today” while expressing his sorrow at Jaitley’s passing away.

Actor Varun Dhawan tweeted his condolences to Jaitley’s family besides saying that he will be missed.

Filmmaker Karan Johar posted a message on Twitter saying that “the nation mourns a strong and assured leader today”.

Actor and producer Anil Kapoor recalled that he had met Arun Jaitley 20 years back and had been his admirer ever since.

Actor Sanjay Dutt said that he was “deeply saddened and shocked to hear the demise of #ArunJaitley sir.”

Comedian Kapil Sharma also took to Twitter to express his sorrow over Jaitley’s demise.

Veteran singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle also tweeted their condolences over the passing away of the BJP leader.

Singer Adnan Sami tweeted stating that he remembered Arun Jaitley as a “very kind soul.”

According to the bulletin released by AIIMS, Jaitley passed away at 12.07 pm on Saturday. PM Narendra Modi, who is currently in the UAE, took to Twitter to offer condolences and called him a “political giant” who had an “unbreakable bond” with the BJP. According to reports Modi also spoke to Jaitley’s wife and son, to offer condolences.
