Alia Spends Sunday Prepping for ‘Takht’ With Karan Johar

On Sunday, Alia Bhatt gave us a glimpse of her evening plans which involved Karan Johar and his upcoming period drama Takht. The Kalank actor shared a boomerang on her Instagram which shows a coffee mug with the word ‘Takht’ printed on it and Karan Johar who sits in front of her. Karan is dressed in a red shirt and a floral blazer. Immersed in Takht prep, it seems like Karan Johar is speaking to someone else in the room.

Karan Johar’s Takht has a star cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. While no official announcement about the film has been made, reports claim that the shoot will commence in February 2020.

Takht is set in the Mughal Era with Ranveer and Vicky playing emperor Shah Jahan’s dueling sons Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb respectively. Anil Kapoor will be essaying the role of Shah Jahan. Kareena will play the boys’ sister, Jahanara Begum while Alia, Janhvi and Bhumi’s roles are still under wraps. Karan has described the film as an “epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne.”

Alia will next be seen in ‘Brahmastra’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. The film is a fantasy adventure and it’s directed by Ayan Mukerji.

She is currently busy with Sadak 2, which marks the return of her father Mahesh Bhatt as director, 20 years after he helmed his last feature, Kartoos. Sadak 2 also stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
