It seems Ajay Devgn is on a signing spree. After sealing the deal for Luv Ranjan’s next and Chanakya, the actor has signed a biopic on football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The yet-to-be titled film will be helmed by Amit Sharma. This would be Devgn’s second biopic after The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

A still in black and white of shoe-less feet on a football has been released with the slogan “The untold story of the golden era of Indian football, 1951-1962”.

The screenplay of the film has been penned by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, and will be produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Joy Sengupta.

Shariq Patel, CEO of Zee Studios, said about the upcoming venture:

We are happy to collaborate with Boney Kapoor to tell the story of India’s football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. Ajay Devgn essaying the character makes it even more special.
