‘Baadshaho’: Ajay, Emraan In Emergency Era Heist Drama

Films during the Emergency era seem to be the new trend.

The ‘teaser’ of Baadshaho is 1 min 55 secs long - good enough to be a trailer. This Milan Luthria directed thriller looks like a heist drama set during the Emergency era in 1975. Unlike Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar, there are no visual references to Indira or Sanjay Gandhi in this one, the Emergency backdrop just seems incidental here.

So we have Ajay Devgn teaming up with Emraan Hashmi to steal a treasure laden armoured van travelling through the dusty roads of what looks like Rajasthan. The guys have Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra for company, while Vidyut Jamwal with a prominently fake moustache gives them the chase. And did we also get a glimpse of Sunny Leone there?

Both Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi desperately need a hit, will Baadshaho change their fortunes?
