If reports are to be believed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be taking home Rs 10 crore for her next project, a remake of the 1967 film Raat Aur Din. Bridging the gender gap when it comes to fees, producer Prernaa Arora reportedly have agreed to the actor’s terms. A victory for the women in the industry for sure.
The original Raat Aur Din was directed by Satyen Bose, and was about a married woman, Varuna, who suffers from multiple personality disorder. Nargis Dutt played Varuna and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Actress for the role.
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor steps into Nargis’ shoes. The source adds that Sanjay Dutt was an integral part of the discussions of the tribute-film to his late mother, and had green-lighted the thought of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing the character essayed by Nargis. The source added:
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will next be seen in Fanney Khan, in which she co-stars with Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Directed by Atul Manjrekary, Fanney Khan releases in June, clashing with Salman Khan's Race 3.
