Abhishek & Rani to Reunite for a ‘Bunty aur Babli’ Sequel?
Shaad Ali will be returning as director.
After creating quite the stir in 2005, it has been reported that the Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji starrer Bunty aur Babli might be getting a sequel. According to reports, the sequel might be titled Bunty aur Babli Again. Apparently, the sequel has been in talks for quite some time and is finally going to floors in June.
Bunty aur Babli Again will be directed by filmmaker Shaad Ali, who also directed the original Bunty aur Babli. He has also directed other films like Saathiya, Raavan, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, and most recently Ok Jaanu starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Bunty aur Babli was the story of two small-town ambitious people, Rakesh Trivedi (Abhishek Bachchan) and Vimmi Saluja (Rani Mukerji), who dream of becoming rich and somehow in trying to achieve that dream, they become con artists. The film takes the audience through their journey of becoming con artists. Bunty aur Babli also starred Amitabh Bachcan in a prominent role.
Abhishek and Rani have previously shared the screen in films like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Hum Tum. Abhishek was last seen in Manmarziyaan. Rani Mukerji was last seen in Hichki. She is all geared up to return as the fearless cop in Mardaani 2. The actor has kickstarted the shooting of Mardaani 2 wherein she will reprise the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy. However, this time she will have added responsibilities as the Superintendent of Police.
Mardaani 2 will mark the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, who wrote the original script, and will be produced by Aditya Chopra. YRF had announced in a statement that the film is expected to release in the second half of 2019.
Abhishek Bachchan might soon be making his digital debut on Amazon Prime as well. He will be a part of online series Breathe 2.
