This might come as a shock for the fans of superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran 2 or Robot 2. The highly anticipated project was supposed to be the debut vehicle of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Indian cinema. However, it has come to our knowledge that the deal between the makers of the film and Schwarzenegger didn’t work out, resulting in the exit of the Terminator star from the project.
“The makers couldn’t afford to pay Rs. 120 crore as remuneration to Arnold. It’s almost equivalent to the budget of the film minus the salaries of the lead cast, director Shankar and music composer AR Rahman. The team is now planning to rope in a Bollywood actor to play the baddie, and already Neil Nitin Mukesh is under consideration,” a source said, adding that Arnold also suggested a few changes to be made in the script if he were to join.
“Arnold had asked Shankar to rework on the script with the help of some script consultants in US. He had made some suggestions and wanted them to be incorporated. However, Shankar didn’t want make any changes,” the source said.
To be produced by Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson who, according to some reports, will be playing a robot in the film. AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the tunes, while Sean Foot, who had worked in films such as Avatar and Vikram’s I, will be taking care of Rajinikanth’s look in the film.
