Anupam Kher has finished shooting for the American science fiction series Sense8, directed and produced by the creators of Matrix trilogy - Andy and Lana Wachowski. The web television series, which also features Bollywood actress Tena Desae, will premiere on Netflix on June 5. An elated Anupam tweeted a link to the trailer on Monday:

Speaking to The Quint, Anupam revealed that he plays Tena Desae’s father in this 12 part series. Tena is one of the eight principal characters in Sense8. He said, “I am a great admirer of the Wachowskis’ work. I was elated when I was told they liked my performance in Silver Linings Playbook and wanted to cast me for this role.”

Anupam who bagged the role without an audition and has completed shooting his portion in Mumbai added, “I am happy I could do this because earlier this year I had to let go off a British TV series Indian Summers because the dates were clashing with the American tour of my new play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha.”

Anupam is also all praise for his screen daughter Tena, “I played her father in her debut film Yeh Faasle as well and she plays an interesting character in this series. I am so happy for her.”

Andy and Lana Wachowski also held a Masterclass at Anupam’s acting school An Actor Prepares last year while they were in Mumbai for the shoot.

Sense8 revolves around how these eight strangers from eight different parts of the world connect and have access to use each other’s skills at any given point. Sense8 also stars Brian J Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen Joe Pantoliano, Doona Bae, Naveen Andrews and Daryl Hannah.
