Last Friday saw the ‘infamous’ clash between superstars Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan with their films Rustom and Mohenjo Daro clashing at the box office.

Though both films failed to convince critics and audiences alike with what they had to offer, the industry has been buzzing about a rift between the two. But Akshay, who likes to stay away from any kind of negativity spoke to the media to clear the air about his friend and neighbour Hrithik Roshan.

We are still neighbours. We are still friends. We still talk to each other and eat together. It is not a clash. Do not give it a word ‘clash’. Clash is a wrong word and we do not clash with each other. We always pray that movies should run at the box office. If the films do well, actors will also do well and eventually the film industry will run.

Kumar, who has been part of very interesting subjects, has been feeling lately that people should stop pitting actors against each other.

It was very good that my colleagues and others, with whom I have not worked, also came ahead to promote Rustom. I am very thankful to them for supporting my film. They also tweeted about my film. It does work well. I think this trend (of actors promoting each others’ films) should continue. I feel everybody’s film should run. It is important for the film industry.
