Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 400 crore and is touted as India’s most expensive film till date. And it stars two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars. The film releases on 25 January 2018 (Thursday). With Republic Day falling on a Friday, this seems like a great step for the film’s box-office performance. But Akshay Kumar’s other film, PadMan which is a biographical story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur and Padma Shree awardee also releases on the same day. The film is a true story of the man who revolutionised the production of low-cost sanitary napkins in rural India.

While the two films have completely different offerings, will the commercial 2.0 eat into PadMan’s box-office collections?
