Airlift Collections Rising, KKHH3 Figures Disappoint at Box Office

Akshay Kumar’s Airlift has struck the right chord with audiences across the country. This story of a Kuwait based businessman, who carries out the biggest civilian evacuation during the Iraq-Kuwait war, has been widely appreciated by critics and masses alike.
The film’s collections have been on a steady rise since its release last week. On the opening Friday itself, Airlift collected Rs 11 Cr while on Saturday it hit Rs 14.50 Cr and the film’s Sunday collections were a whopping 17 Cr.
That’s brings it to about Rs 42.50 Cr in just the opening weekend. Ekta Kapoor’s sex comedy Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 also released on the same day as Airlift but has failed to make a mark at the box office. KKHH3’s weekend collections looked like this- Fri: 6.5 Cr, Sat 5.25 Cr and Sun 6 Cr. That makes it a disappointing total of Rs 17.75 Cr.
