The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil versus Shivaay battle officially begins on Friday, 28 October. I say officially here because if you follow the incorrigible Kamaal R Khan on Twitter for fun (what else?), he’s already given a thumbs down to the Ajay Devgn film.
Khan has even promised to work as an office boy in Devgn’s office if Shivaay becomes a hit!
Moving to ADHM, an early review in Gulf News gives Karan Johar’s latest Ranbir-Anushka-Aishwarya starrer an average star rating, calling it a film about a “posh posse who are stupid and stubborn in love”. And yes Ranbir Kapoor does steal the show.
The Quint’s Twitter poll showed that there was a tilt towards Karan Johar’s film over Ajay Devgn’s. According to reports, both films stand an equal chance at the box office right now.
Exhibitors say that while Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has got a good response as far as advance bookings in multiplexes go, Shivaay is looking strong in the single screens. Also, ADHM is favoured in metros like Delhi and Mumbai, while Shivaay is ruling in centres like UP and Indore.
As of now ADHM with its star cast, music, the Karan Johar branding and ‘family film’ tag might just have a slight edge over Devgn’s Shivaay. Meanwhile KRK is settling into watch ADHM, you might want to keep track of his Twitter timeline.
