20 years ago on July 31st, 1995 - the first ever call via cell phone was made in India. The mobile phone has over the decades become an intrinsic part of our daily lives.

From what we could dig out, the cell phone made its debut in Bollywood a year later in the film Tere Mere Sapne, which released in December 1996. The film revolved around then newcomers - Chandrachur Singh and Arshad Warsi, who exchange their identities in a plot somewhat similar to Mark Twain’s The Prince and the Pauper.
