Third Clean Chit to PM Modi Over ‘Nuclear’ Speech in Barmer
Earlier this week, the EC gave a clean chit to PM Modi for his speech in Maharashtra’s Latur and Wardha.
The Election Commission on Thursday, 2 May, gave a clean chit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his speech at Rajasthan’s Barmer where he had warned Pakistan, saying India's nuclear arsenal is not meant for Diwali.
This was Modi's third clean chit from the commission in the last three days as he was accused of violating the model code of conduct by the Congress party.
"India stopped getting scared of Pakistan’s threats... Every other day Pakistan used to say we have nuclear button, our newspapers would also say the same, then what do we do? Have we kept it (nuclear button) for Diwali?" Modi had said during his speech on 21 April.
Clean Chit Over PM Modi’s Latur & Wardha Speech
Earlier this week, the EC gave a clean chit to PM Modi for his speech in Maharashtra's Latur and Wardha.
During his speech in Latur, Modi had asked people to dedicate their votes to the jawans killed in the Pulwama terror attack and the soldiers who carried out the Balakot airstrikes.
Meanwhile, on 1 April in Wardha, the prime minister said that the Congress had been forced to contest from places dominated by the minority community, referring to Rahul Gandhi’s decision to fight from Wayanad.
