Priyanka Salms Modi, Questions Vikas in Varanasi

Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination seeking re-election from Varanasi, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Saturday accused him of not visiting a single village there.

"The prime minister travels across the globe, undertakes boat rides in Varanasi, but he has not visited the villages in his parliamentary constituency," she said during a roadshow in favour of Congress' Unnao candidate Annu Tandon.

"The prime minister should at least visit a village in his constituency, speak to the people and try to understand the reality," she said.

Congress releases names of Subhash Rathod and Kusumavathi Shivalli, for by-election to legislative assemblies of Chincholi and Kundgol, respectively, reported ANI.

PM Modi's Accusations Baseless, Says Mayawati

Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav called him “neech”, the BSP Chief said:

“Today in Kannauj PM Modi said that we (Mayawati and Akhilesh) had called him 'neech' but we never said so. His accusations are baseless. With due respect we had always considered him someone belonging to upper caste,” she said.

Case Against Gambhir For Rallying Without Permission

Following the directives of the Election Commission (EC), the Delhi Police registered a case against cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir for holding an election rally without taking permission.

East Delhi Electoral Officer K. Mahesh on Saturday asked the police to take action against Gambhir for rallying in Jungpura on Friday without permission and violating the model code of conduct.

"We have registered Delhi Police (DP) Act against Gautam Gambhir and are taking action against him under Non Cognizable Report," Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.

We Have Right to Ask PM What Happened to Development Model: Sharad Pawar

NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Friday night, 26 April that Opposition parties and people have the right to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi what happened to the development model promised by him and the BJP.

He was addressing an election rally in Maharashtra’s Thane for NCP candidate Anand Paranjpe.

"You and I have the right to ask PM what happened to his development model," the NCP chief said.

Modi won the last Lok Sabha elections by promising Gujarat-like development model for the country, but in the last five years he did not say anything about unemployment and the plight of small traders, labourers, Dalits and tribals, Pawar said.
