Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BSP supremo Mayawati said that the people of the country do not want a government which asks educated youth to sell pakoras and tea, calling it an “anti-people” policy.

She tweeted:

“The 130 crore people in the country, especially, the crores of educated youth and the unemployed do not want the wrong-thinking BJP government which compels them to sell pakoras, tea and be a chowkidar instead of giving them employment, and adopts similar anti-people policies."

As 10 states of Uttar Pradesh, namely Moradabad, Rampur, Firozabad, Bareilly, among others are participating in the ongoing Phase 3 of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati also appealed to voters to take part in the polling in another tweet.

“The third phase of polling is underway to elect the 17th Lok Sabha today. I appeal to all voters to participate in voting. Voting is your invaluable constitutional right on the basis of which you can ensure a government of your choice which is in your interest and make your lives happy and prosperous."

As of 9 am, an overall 10.24% voter turnout was recorded in the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Polling began at 7 am and will end at 6 pm.
