India on Monday, 12 July, reported 37,154 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 3,08,74,376. The death toll increased by 724 to 4,08,764.

The number of active cases in the country stands at 4,50,899, with 3,00,14,713 total recoveries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with the chief ministers of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram at 11 am on Tuesday regarding the COVID-19 situation in these states.

India on Monday, 12 July, reported 37,154 new COVID cases, taking the tally in the country to 3,08,74,376.

Delhi's Janpath Market Shut Over Violation of COVID Norms

Delhi's popular Janpath market has been shut “until further orders” over violation of COVID-19 norms.

“The Janpath Market is hereby closed till further orders for violation of Delhi Disaster Management Authority order and for not following Covid appropriate behavioural norms,” an order issued by SDM (Chanakyapuri) Parmod Kumar read.

No Recorded Case of Delta Plus in Tripura: Centre

As per the central government, there were reports regarding rising cases of Delta Plus variants in Tripura. As many as 152 samples of people testing positive in the RTPCR test between April and May were sent to NIBMG, Kalyani, for Whole Genome Sequence. However, there was no case of Delta Plus among the samples, ANI reported.
