ओ रे अब के बरस, इतना तर हो गये
एक बदरी घटा, वैसी तुम्हारी ज़ुल्फें
अल्फाज़ से बहरी हैं तुम्हारी बातें
जाड़ों में दोपहरी हैं तुम्हारी बातें
रमजान में सहरी हैं तुम्हारी बातें
डूबे तो नहीं हम, मगर अब डूबेंगे
इक झील सी गहरी हैं तुम्हारी बातें
कमख्वाब से अच्छी हैं तुम्हारी सांसें
और ख्वाब से कच्ची हैं तुम्हारी सांसें
शराब से सच्ची हैं तुम्हारी सांसें
प्यासों के लिए मान लो हर हालत में
अब आब से अच्छी हैं तुम्हारी सांसें
इक जाम सी मदहोश तुम्हारी आंखें
और शम्मा अंधेरे में तुम्हारी आंखें
तोड़ा है कलम हम ने फकत यह लिखकर
इलहाम से मनसूब तुम्हारी आंखें
