A full blown fuel crisis has erupted in the eastern state of Tripura, as the supply of essentials items and fuel continues to be hit badly across the state.
Daily life in the eastern state has been crippled for about two months now because of the badly damaged condition of NH-8 that connects Tripura to the rest of the country.
Due to heavy rains and poor maintenance, the NH-8, has turned into a muddy field.
Lowerpoah in southern Assam’s Karimganj district adjoining northern Tripura is knee-deep in mud, thus almost entirely cutting off Tripura by surface communication.
