In “National News” today, we have comedian Tanmay Bhat in a not-so-funny situation. Tanmay thought it would be funny to make a Snapchat video mimicking two of the biggest Indian icons – Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar. But he found himself in the middle of a police inquiry, national outrage and a possible ban on the video on Google and YouTube by Mumbai police.
But amidst all this, the biggest joke was on NewsX, which turned one of Bhat’s sarcastic tweets into a news story. Yeah, a real news story. Not faking news.
