Hyundai India has globally launched their most awaited SUV – the Creta. Hyundai has priced the car starting at Rs 8.59 lakh for the petrol version and the diesel variant will start at Rs 9.46 lakh for the 1.4 litre engine.
Bookings for the Creta have started, but with over 15,000 bookings already, be ready to be placed on a waiting list.
In terms of dimensions, the new Creta measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width and 1,630 mm in height.
The Creta will feature a 55-litre fuel tank and will be available in seven exterior colour options – Polar White, Sleek Silver, Mystic Blue, Red Passion, Pearl Beige, Stardust and Phantom Black.
Hyundai Creta packs in a 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine, which churns out 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque.
The Diesel engine is a 1.6-litre CRDI engine that pumps out 128 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque.
There is a third engine option as well, a 1.4-litre CRDI diesel motor, which is tuned to generate 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque. This engine is bound to deliver high fuel economy.
There is a 6-speed manual transmission on the SUV and you will also get an option of a 1.6-litre CRDI diesel variant of a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The other features on the list include 17-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, static bending, leather seats, Audio Video Navigation System (AVN), five inch touchscreen audio system, smart key with push button start, rear AC vents, 6-airbags, Anti-lock Braking system (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill start Assist Control (HAC), and reverse parking camera.
The Hyundai Creta is competition to the already successful baby SUVs in India such as the Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano.
