The Emirates plane crash-landing at the Dubai airport and subsequently catching fire on the runway was Wednesday’s huge shocker. Save for one firefighter, there were no casualties in the incident, as seconds after the last passenger escaped the smoke-filled cabin, a portion of the plane exploded and hit the ground.
A video from inside the plane went viral on social media, that revealed the chaos and predicament of the panic-stricken passengers and crew members on board. In the background an attendant is heard screaming “Leave your bags, jump and slide! Jump and slide!”

Soon after, a flight attendant and possibly a former Emirates employee shared the video with a rather scathing tirade directed at the Indians on the aircraft.
A lot of the comments on the post also spurred on the racism and anger directed at the “rats” who were “dumb enough to go back for their bags” when the aircraft was a volcano waiting to explode.
Now, Mohit Dantre, a breakfast show host for Radio Mirchi UAE and TV presenter based in the Emirates decided to call the flight attendant out on his blatant racism.
In a Facebook post, attached with screenshots of the original post (which has subsequently been deleted) and the comments, Dantre said this is not the first instance of racism against Indians in UAE he’s come across.
Dantre points out that in a situation of panic, people from another country would perhaps not have reacted any differently.
Could people have reacted better? I don’t know! Would people from another country react any different or better? I certainly don’t think so! How does one react to a situation where you see your life is about to end in the next few seconds. And got to love how he has colored his racist rant into a status update full of ‘shock,anger and fear’ .
His post has garnered over a 1000 likes and nearly 500 shares. Kudos for his effort. Someone had to do it!
