The owner of Mumbai’s iconic Parsi joint Britannia & Co. claims to be the biggest fan of the British royal family. Boman Kohinoor, the 93 year old restauranteur has had a lifelong dream, to meet members of the royal family. So when he heard that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be spending a few days in Mumbai, with some help from Twitter, Boman sought support by spreading the word, #WillKatMeetMe. As they say, if you want it badly enough, the universe conspires for you to realise your dream. Social media helped a great deal in Boman’s case of course. He was invited by Prince William and Kate Middleton for a special meeting at the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai. Now isn’t that super sweet?

The Duke and Duchess, who were in India on a four day trip, heard of Mr Kohinoor after Condé Nast Traveller posted a video of him inviting the Royal Highnesses to his humble restaurant for a meal. Kohinoor’s invitation went viral and that’s how he managed to fulfil his dream.

The Quint will be meeting him soon to know all about his experience, so watch out this space for more.
