1.Karnataka: 20 Arrested in Group Clash During Tipu Jayanti

Twenty people have been arrested on charges of stone pelting in Kalaburagi on Wednesday after the birth anniversary celebrations of the 18th century ruler Tipu Sultan led to a clash between two groups.

Clashes erupted when a group of people led by the BJP Yuva Morcha taluk President Sunil Shetty tried to disrupt the procession carrying a portrait of Tipu Sultan. For more read here.

2. Hotelier in Bar Bribery Case: “Gave 10 Crores to Excise Minister”

Hotelier Biju Ramesh came down at another Kerala Minister on Wednesday, a day after Finance Minister KM Mani resigned over bar bribery allegations levelled by him.

Ramesh renewed his charge that Rs 10 crore was given to Excise Minister K Babu for renewal of licences of liquor bars. Read the full report here.

3. Goa Priest’s Death: Kin Meet CM Laxmikant Parsekar for Speedy Probe

The family of activist and Catholic priest Bismarque Dias, whose body was found in a river in his village under mysterious circumstances last week, called on Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Wednesday and demanded a speedy probe into the incident, even as they continue to put on hold Dias’s funeral.

4. Top GNLA Cadres Arrested in Meghalaya

Two top GNLA cadres were arrested on Wednesday from a Meghalaya village in the East Garo Hills district.

They were arrested from a house where they were taking shelter.

During interrogation, the two GNLA cadres revealed that the outfit had split into smaller groups due to intensified police action. Full report here.

5. Vishakapatnam: Suspicion of Witchcraft Kills Man

A person was beaten to death in Vishakapatnam and his body burnt by locals who suspected he was practising witchcraft and black magic in a village. The incident came to light when his wife filed a police complaint.

The deceased was a farmer. Police has registered a case and investigation is on. For more read here.

6. Chilling Gurgaon Murder Captured on CCTV Camera

Four men chased a man and killed him in Gurgaon, and this whole act was captured on CCTV camera installed in a petrol pump. The man they were chasing fell down from a bullet injury, and was seen lying lifeless on the road.

7. Mumbai: Police Detains Carpenter for Killing 55-Year-Old

A carpenter, who was accused of killing a 55-year-old woman in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, was nabbed on Wednesday.

He is a Dadar resident. Cops claim to have cracked the case with the detention of the 40-year-old carpenter. For more read here.

8. North Bengal: Officer Dead After Diwali Gamblers’ Chase

A police sub-inspector was allegedly stoned in North Bengal during a gambling den raid on Wednesday night that led to his death hours later, and the arrest of 21 people.

9. Delhi: Six Kids Hurt in Cylinder Blast at Illegal Filling Unit

Six children, including a 10-month-old girl, were injured in Delhi when LPG leaked from a neighbouring illegal cylinder filling unit caught fire.

Three of them received up to 60% burns and have been taken to Safdarjung hospital, Delhi. Rest of the injured who got up to 30% burns were admitted to Civil hospital, Gurgaon. For more read here.
