Team Ganga Avahan reached a small village near Kannauj, UP, but met with a small predicament: They were lost on an island in the middle of the river. The support team’s raft drifted away along the way.

The saving grace?

“It’s a beautiful place,” says Wg Cdr Paramvir, the man leading the team on this expedition.

Team Ganga Avahan reached Narola, Uttar Pradesh, but were met with challenges in the form of severe heat, shallow water level and crocodiles.

The water was so shallow in certain parts of the Ganga between Bijnore and Narola that the swimmers had to walk along the raft.

The swimmers even grew their beards to protect their faces from the harsh sunlight.

“But spirits are high,” said team leader Wg Cdr Paramvir Singh.
