Insomnia is tough to describe to anyone who hasn’t lived through it. Most people think this chronic, crippling disease is a result of a wasted, edgy lifestyle - partying late, heavily caffeinated or too much time on the net.

The clock is always mocking you, you roll over every few seconds to check the time, any streak of light, anywhere on the planet will wake you up. Clocks are your enemies. They’re almost always mocking at you!

On some nights sleep is not your destiny.

You envy people who can sleep any where, any time. You have a sleeping pattern of a vampire and when you go to bed you’re never comfortable. Sleep has got nothing to do with the time at which you have dinner or switch off the bedroom lights.

Some days your brain just won’t stop buzzing.

They just can’t understand how a person functions without sleep. Why a person functions without sleep. They’ll buy you a soft pillow and put some zen-like music in the night - but hey! But the bills!

OMG, why you’re still awake!

What about your health! Your husband’s health. And the cats!
