Actress Konkona Sensharma is now a filmmaker too. The Page 3 girl who wowed us in films like Life In a Metro, Luck By Chance and Wake Up Sid and art house productions such as Mr and Mrs Iyer and 15 Park Avenue has made her directorial debut with A Death In the Gunj.
Konkana’s debut film features Ranvir Shorey, Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiah, Vikrant Massey, Om Puri and Tanuja in important roles. Going by the trailer, the film set in 1979, revolves around a family which has come together for a vacation in McCluskiegunj, and during the time spent there, the dynamics between different family members change, leading to a death under mysterious circumstances.
The mood, music and ensemble of actors put together by Konkona look inviting and we’re curious about the film already. What’s more, A Death In the Gunj has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival this year.
