Kareena Kapoor has always believed in breaking norms, and she’s done it with her pregnancy too. While you and I found out about her ‘baby plans’ only recently, industry buzz suggests that she was frank and honest about her pregnancy with Rhea and Ekta Kapoor, the producers of her next flick Veere Di Wedding, from the very beginning (they knew almost a month ago).
While the career of an actress is perceived to be over after she gets hitched or has kids in a typical Bollywood scenario, here was Kareena being a solid professional and a confident mother-to-be.
The Kapoor girls were so touched by her honesty and eagerness to be a part of the film that they decided to reschedule the film’s calendar and work around Kareena’s baby bump. First time producer Rhea Kapoor is probably going to fight her share of battles, but Kareena’s pregnancy is not one of them.
Remember how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reportedly got replaced by Kareena in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, because she didn’t inform the makers of her pregnancy? Yes, Kareena is smarter than that. Not only does she learn from her own mistakes, she makes the most of the ones that others make around her too.
Not only is the girl gang of Veere Di Wedding (including co-stars Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar) great at keeping secrets, this is also a truly modern bunch of women, who don’t think of bearing children as a hurdle in one’s professional ambitions.
