The past few days have been rife with speculation and news over the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Udta Punjab not making past the censor board. The CBFC has demanded too many cuts in the film- and no one’s too happy about it, least of all filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who took to Twitter to voice his frustrations.

Kashyap is one of the producers for Udta Punjab, which is set to come out on June 17th and is currently in the CBFC’s firing line with a recommendation of 89 cuts and removal of all references to Punjab.

The director took to Twitter saying that anyone opposing an ‘honest’ film like Udta Punjab is guilty of promoting drugs.

Kashyap has also asked political parties to stay away from the controversy, insisting that it was between his rights and censorship.
